Social Media Roundup: The Smart Money Woman Series Premiere, BBNaija's Disco-Themed Party And More
From Ebuka's spectacular outfit on the BBNaija Sunday Eviction Show to the different outfits worn at The Smart Money Woman Series Premiere, most of them designed by Nigerian designers, if we may add, this week was a rollercoaster of fashion topics.
The Social Media Roundup column is one that's specially designed to fill you in on all the fashion trends and actions that happened all through the week. Last week was filled with birthday shoots of many celebrities, even Chloe and Halle graced the Cosmopolitan October Cover, and you can read all about it here.
So, what interesting thing went down in the fashion industry this week?
What was worth taking note of?
The Smart Money Woman Series Premiere
The Smart Money Woman is a book written by Arese Ugwu that focuses on the African girl's journey to financial freedom. The book features great examples of proper financial planning, investment and other money matters all wedged into a beautiful story, and it is now being adapted into a TV series.
The series premiere was aired virtually with a live Q&A Party for the casts and crew members, with the theme Bougie On A Budget. Different celebrities rocked their various outfits from popular designers including Adeysoile, Cinnamon Lagos and many more.
Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, the king of fashion, has consistently been slaying since the beginning of the BBNaija Season 5 Show, and last Sunday was not any different.
Ebuka sported a striped silver two-piece from Mai Atafo, and a white turtleneck, paired with white shoes. The ensemble was completed with a belt which was the same colour as the outfit, to make a perfect rhyme.
Oliver Nakakande On The Satisfashion UG September Cover
Oliver Nakakande, Uganda's beauty queen and fashionista, recently graced the cover for Satisfashion UG's Digital September 2020 Issue. The beauty queen spoke about the coronavirus pandemic, how she has been dealing with it, as well as the moment she was crowned Miss Uganda 2019.
She rocked numerous outfits from top Ugandan fashion designers including Yasmin K, Kanelja, and even Kais Divo, who recently released a new fashion collection.
The housemates of the BBNaija Season 5 Show were treated specially to a Saturday night disco-themed party, and we must say, all the outfits were a bit!
Unlike other Saturday parties outfits where some of the housemates got mouth-gaping outfits (you can check out Laycon's superhero outfit here), the outfits were neatly delivered by the designers to give that disco and edgy look.
Michael B. Jordan on Wonderland Magazine
Popular award-winning actor, Michael B. Jordan, who is known for playing the role of Killmonger in Black Panther, covered the Autumn 2020 Issue for the Wonderland Magazine. The actor spoke about his journey so far as a black actor in Hollywood.
He also discussed how he strives to use his influence to uplift the next generation and the level of impact he wants to have.
Elsa Majimbo x FENTY
Elsa Majimbo is a 19-year old journalism student from Kenya that makes funny skits all over social media, and it is now safe to say that she's quite the fashion influencer.
She recently bagged an influencer marketing deal with FENTY, Rihanna's fashion label, and through this, she was gifted with all the sunshades in their new collection to make content around.
Those are some of the trending fashion topics you might have missed on social media this week!
