Despite the lockdown that saw many physical shows being postponed, put on hold or held virtually, some shows still held physically. With these physical shows came certain hosts that wore the most show-stopping awe-inspiring outfits that showed the lockdown it couldn't stop their shine. 

Here are 5 show hosts that stole the show with their fashion in 2020;

1. Bonang Matheba as the Souncity MVP Awards Host

South African media personality, Bonang Matheba definitely came prepared as the host of the Soundcity MVP Awards show in January. From the stage to the after-party, she rocked 4 stunning outfits that completely stole the show. 

With plenty of shimmer and sparkle that caught all our eyes, Bonang sported a black sequined floor-length dinner gown with mismatched sleeves, a sparkly red dress that featured a high-slit and cut-outs, an elegant shimmery pantsuit and a black mini dress all in one night. She definitely was not playing. 

2. Toke Makinwa as the AMVCA 2020 Host

Ever stunning and stylish, Toke Makinwa sure stole the show at the 2020 Africa Magic Viewer's Choice Awards (AMVCA) in March. The author, entrepreneur, influencer, tv and radio personality sported a bright blue one-shoulder dress with a plunging neckline and a high slit. 

The gracefully draped outfit, which was paired with silver accessories and strappy heels, accentuated her curves making her the centre of attention for all.

​​​​​​3. Keke Palmer as the VMAs Host 

At the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) in August, actress, singer and television personality, Keke Palmer sure caused heads to turn with her 3 outfit choices. One with a beautiful sense of fashion, her outfits ranged from elegant to cool and hip.

For her first look, she sported a blue miniskirt with a high slit and bow at the side. She finished up the look with stud earrings, a choker, and a pair of black embellished strappy heels. 

Her second outfit was a neon yellow lawsuit with multi-coloured heels, a green cap and colourful makeup. Her final look for the night was a floor-length black dress with a simple choker and emerald earrings.

4. Ebuka Obi-Uchendu as the BBNaija Season 5 Host

One to always catch attention with his fashion choices, Ebuka constantly served us with hot looks as the host of BBNaija lockdown season 5 in September. Whether in a two-piece tailored pantsuit or Nigerian traditional attire, he managed to steal the show every single time. 

Some of the most rave-worthy outfits he donned were a black agbada and sokoto ensemble that had a twist to it - a necktie, a striped silver two-piece which he paired with a turtle neck and white shoes, as well as an officer's uniform that broke the internet. 

With his glittery suits and stylish cultural wears, Ebuka is definitely one show stopper we all love.

5. Ayanda Thabethe at the South African Style Awards 2020

The theme 'Denim Couture' at the South African Style Awards in November saw various celebrities turn up very stylishly. The show host, Ayanda Thabethe took the breath of many away with her crop top and maxi skirt ensemble. 

The sequined outfit was gorgeous and paired with simple accessories to create a true show-stopping look.
