March 16, 2020 | by bolu | 4 Comments

The 2020 Africa Magic Viewer's Choice Awards, popularly known as AMVCA took place on Saturday,14th of March, 2020 at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Trust us when we say that the outifts at the awards show were breathtaking!

We saw different fashion styles, while some played it safe, others didn't mind taking a risk with their outfits at all. Did the risks pay off, or were they just too risky? You decide.

We also saw a bold range of colours worn by different celebrities, velvet material, sequins, silk, and many others. Someone even dared to wear a pair of ripped jeans!

So, let's take a look at some of the spectatular outfits for that day, shall we?

  1. Toke Makinwa

Starting with the host herself, Toke Makinwa sported a bright-blue one-shoulder dress, with a long slit.

We must say, Toke Makinwa isn't one to play it safe, as her dress showed a bit of cleavage, in addition to matching hair accesories, earrings and shoes. She slayed.

   2. Adesua Etomi

A seasoned actress, and wife to popular musician and actor, Bankole Wellington also known as Banky W, Adesua Etomi brought the 'regal and elegant look' to the AMVCA 2020.

The fabric, which had glitters and nude undertones highlighted her colour. With her hair styled above her neck in a classy fashion, others were able to appreciate the low back cut of the dress.

Adesua Etomi is one celebrity that certainly does not let us down on the red carpet. Did we mention that her favourite hypeman, Banky W, was by her side to give his support?

   3. Funke Akindele

Funke Akindele, who was the winner in the 'Best Actress In A Comedy' Category for the movie Moms At War, wore a dress styled by popular celebrity stylist, Medlin Boss.

Over the years, Funke has not been one to go out of her comfort zone to wear something daring, but she stepped a bit out and killed this look!

Her dress was off-shoulder adorned with flowery embroidery and it was one to admire.

  4. Sola Sobowale

Our never-aging Nollywood mama, Sola Sobowale also came very prepared for this year's AMVCA. With her outfit, shoes and accesories, the forever glowing Sola Sobowale didn't even look 56 one bit!

The lead actress in the King Of Boys movie, which was nominated for a few categories at the awards show, but sadly didnt win any, wore a beautiful purple dress with a cape attached. If you didn't know already, purple signifies royalty.

Should we begin with her fabulous natural-looking hair? Or perhaps the gold-embelished top of her dress, or even her shoes? Sola Sobowale is still regal goals, anyday, anytime.

  5. Jemima Osunde

A member of the Sweet Girls Association, a young talented actress, and also a physiotherapist, who said Jemima Osunde can't pull anything off?

In case you're not familiar with the name, she was the lead actress in New Money, Leila in the television series, Shuga and a whole lot of other movies.

Osunde came dripping in a royal blue dress with puffed sleeves. Her simple makeup and accesories made the look even more elegant, and she definitely rocked the look.

So there you have it, some of our favourite looks from the AMVCA 2020, stay tuned!
